FRAMING INFORMATION
1st Art Gallery offers the option to receive your painting ready to hang or rolled in a tube.
Currently, for safety, we're able to ship framed paintings only up to a certain size. Once the maximum size is reached, the framing option is automatically disabled.
However, if you are interested in stretching or framing a painting larger than 24x36 inches (60x90 cm), please contact one of our customer success associates or let us know in your order notes. We will send you a catalog of our large framing styles and pricing options.
Unframed rolled canvas orders will arrive rolled inside a protective tube with an extra 1.5" white canvas on all sides so you can easily frame it locally.

This large abstract painting was created in 1923. Kandinsky would assign feelings and emotions to geometric forms. According to his description, the circle would represent peace, tranquility, and the human soul. Although this is a complex piece full of different shapes, at first glance it’s possible to notice that the circle is the dominant shape. The circular and oval forms are larger and more complex. They vary in shape and color. For instance, there is a blue circle on the top left that is fully colored and filled with other smaller circular shapes. Under this shape, there is a squared shape filled with semi circles and other geometric forms. Moving to the bottom of the circle, there is yet another circular shape, formed by a series of colored shapes. The circle is formed by the negative space between them. The shape that stands out the most is a dark black circle to the right of the painting, that embraces most of the geometric and organic lines on this side of the painting.
There are some irregular geometric shapes. Some, like the brown parallelogram on the left of the painting and the grid on the top left, give us an idea of perspective, as if these unknown objects were floating in space. There are several lines drawn among these shapes. On the right-hand side of the painting, they are thinner and messier. There are some thicker organic lines, larger and more spread out.
One of the most notable components in this painting is a thick black transversal line that cuts the canvas in half. It goes from the left bottom and crosses the artwork all the way to the top right. On its tip, there is a small line transversal to it and a small orange circle. It makes a direct connection with the name of the painting. The whole composition is vivid and colorful. It is set on a beige background, and most of the colors are warm. There are bright spots of red and orange all over the painting, contrasting with the tones of brown, yellow and blue. The black shapes and lines contrast with the light background as if we were looking at a comic book or a sketch. The painting, despite completely abstract, is lively, vivacious and communicates positive emotions.
